How the House of Flying Stitches began
The House of Flying Stitches was established In 2021 by fashion designers and milliner, Louise Holland and Yuan Li.
Louise had been working for 10 years as a fashion designer for high street fashion brands and was at the same time working in the London cabaret scene at the weekends as a performer and stage manager.
5 years ago Louise made her wedding dress, this was noticed by the international burlesque icon, Eliza Delite who approached Louise and asked her to make her iconic Zeigfeld Girl costume, it was then that her two worlds of cabaret and fashion came together and she started to make burlesque and cabaret costumes.
As demand became more and more, her friend of more than 15 years, fashion designer and milliner Yuan Li joined her and House of Flying Stitches was born! They joined forces and established the costume atelier House of Flying Stitches, their show-stopping costumes and headdresses for performers, including many iconic burlesque artistes such as Jolie Papillon, Betsy Rose, Lilly Snatch Dragon, Cleopantha, Didi Derriere and Demi Noir to name but a few! Drag queens such as Myra Dubois – drag royalty herself! They have also made many outfits for boylesque performers and have also designed and made suits for cabaret stars.
